Best is Show, for the Chelsea Flower Show in London, was awarded this year (21.5.13) to the Australian entrant, put up by a team of hard-working, green-thumbed gardeners, and framed around an artificial billabong.
The scene, the Trailfinders Australian Garden exhibit, was elegantly crammed into a corner of the gardens, providing a small gorge fashioned from rocks, and waterfalls.
A long time in the making, to a design by Phillip Johnson of Melbourne, it cost two million dollars and came together in the last fortnight, with 18 workers on the job.
With no time for resting under coolabahs (apparently, no actual coolabah trees), and no sign of troopers one-two-three, this billabong, like the one in the song, nevertheless did attract some attention from the state: Queen Elizabeth came and, said reports from the scene, broke off from the set itinerary to have good look around.
