Another week with the same message at the end of it on the global stock markets – more volatility ahead.
Western bourses closed with significant net losses for the week, on Friday (19.8.11), the fall in prices easing during the last day.
It was a “difficult†day, said Le Monde (19.8.11), following calamitous sessions the day before, reflecting ongoing concern over the stability of the European banking system and fears of a new recession in America.
European exchanges some losses over 2% for the day, and in New York the Nasdaq index, down 1.62%, had its lowest closure level for a year.
