Wallaroos Third In World Cup

wallaroos-sportzpicsnet.jpgSPORT: Australia’s Womens Rugby Union side, the Wallaroos, have come out third in the World Cup, played in England.

New Zealand’s Black Ferns won the final on Sunday, 13-10 against England, holding on with 13 players for most of the game after two yellow cards were issued against them

It was their fourth straight win in the competition.

Said Chris Hewett, Rugby Union Correspondent on The Independent: “There is no more formidable team in the whole of women’s sport”.

The Australians defeated France 22-8 to claim their third place, after being pushed aside by England 15-0 (1.9.10).

Numbers of players in the Rugby women’s code have built up strongly in the last decade.
