sarkozy-bruni-europe1fr1.jpgThe government in Teheran has apologised for insults in the Iranian press against Carla Bruni, wife of the French President (picture).

Ramin Mehmanparast, Foreign Affairs spokesperson, said the government did not approve insults against foreign leaders.

Radical conservative media notably the daily newspaper Kayhan said that the wife of President Nicolas Sarkozy was immoral and a prostitute, after she spoke up for a woman in Iran, facing a sentence of being stoned to death for adultery.
