Australian driver Mark Webber’s win in the Monte Carlo Formula One Grand Prix has placed him also as overall leader for the tour.
With back-to-back wins at Monaco, and Barcelona last week, he’d said, before again starting from poll position, he’d be looking fior a “nice clean race”.
After the race, he called it “a very rewarding win” on the “greatest day of his life”.
His Red Bull team-mate Sebastian Vettel was placed second.
Elsewhere, road cyclist Cadel Evans won another leg of the ongoing Tour of Italy, and the Australian cricket team lost out to England – by seven wickets – in the final of the 20-20 World Cup in Barbados; (they said that although disappointed on the day they were glad to have improved in the 20-20 version of the game).
