mozart-new-music-reduced.jpgAn audience of journalists was treated to a performance, in Salzburg (2.8.09), of two recently discovered pieces by Wolfgang Mozart, as a young child.

The manuscripts, presumed to have been transcribed by the composer’s father, had been held in archives for some years, but were only recently confirmed as Mozart’s work.

They are the first movement of a Concerto in G, molto allegro; and a Prelude in G.

The pianist Florian Birsak performed the works inside a house where the composer once lived, on a piano that he used.

The music was recovered by the International Mozarteum Foundation.
