Two dangerous cricket teams are going on to a decider at The Oval (19.8.09; picture), after the Australian win at Headingly — bringing the Ashes series so far to one win each, and two draws.
In the fourth test, the Australians found form; England were set back by injuries.
Australia’s Marcus North was Man of the Match, on 110 recording his third Test Century (second in the Ashes series).
A late second-innings fight-back by England batsmen Stuart Broad (61 runs) and Graeme Swan (62) cheered up the home crowd, at Leeds, to no real avail; Australia winning by an innings and 80 runs, in the third day.
Scores: First innings, England 102, Australia 445; second innings England 263.
The match at The Oval, in London, will be the fifth and final in the series.
