koala-love-high-res2.jpgSam the koala lovingly saved by David Tree during the Victorian bushfires early this year, has had to be put down due to illness. After recovering from her burns at a wildlife shelter the four year-old female koala developed an inoperable health condition linked to chlamydia. The Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, said the image of deliverance had been symbolic of the way Australians showed they would cope.
