megan-gale-cu.jpgMegan Gale has her last two shows as a runway model in the coming few months, back in Australia – and is talking about the movies as a possible new challenge.

She’s told hundreds of well-wishers at a department store appearance she’d been delayed getting to the start of a film engagement in the United States because of the Hollywood writers’ strike – which was a “pain”.

Contracted as the brand image for the up-market David Jones chain, she told a crowd of 300, in Brisbane, it’d be compering for shows from now on, after one more on the runway in Sydney, then a last one in Melbourne.

Megan Gale, 32, who over the last fifteen years joined the select world coterie of leading fashion models, said there was an “inevitability” about making a career change.

One of the crowd summed up for all in acclaiming the famous, green-eyed looks, and patriotically claiming her as its own:

“She’s an icon for Australian fashion; she wears Australian clothing, and has taken that to Europe and other places overseas; she is good with Australians and good for Australia.”
