The Spanish rider Alberto Contador held onto his lead in the Tour de France in Saturday’s time trial event, to wear the yellow jersey into Paris on Sunday (29.7.07).
He was pulled back by Australia’s Cadel Evans (Predictor Lotto team), who remained in second place, and by Levi Leipheimer his American team-mate from Discovery Channel.
This left the top three bunched within 31 seconds on the last day, for the run to Paris.
Contador, 24, and set to win, would start with a 23 second lead over Evans, with Leipheimer just eight seconds further back.
Final results will be recorded here.
